Are there different rules that apply to accidents involving 18-wheelers and semi-trucks in Kentucky?
Our legislature adopted rules and regulations that were implemented by the Federal Government. These rules and regulations are called the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. These regulations are rules that not only truck drivers but also trucking companies have to abide by. They cover such things as the qualification of a driver, the hours of service a driver must abide by when driving. They also cover things such as inspections and things that truck companies must do in servicing their vehicles to ensure they are working safely and properly.
