Do I have to give a recorded statement to the insurance company if I suffered a catastrophic injury?
In Kentucky there is no obligation for you to give a recorded statement to a third-party insurance company. That would be the insurance company of the person who may have hit you in an automobile accident or caused your injury. However, in Kentucky many insurance contracts require you to participate in good faith with your own insurance company's investigation of the accident. If your insurance company requires you to give a statement, it is vital that you select and retain an attorney for that attorney to be present during your recorded statement.
