How long do I have to bring a lawsuit against those who are legally responsible for my personal injuries?
In Kentucky, you have a certain period of time known as the statute of limitations to bring a lawsuit against those that are legally responsible for your injuries. Typically, there is a one year of statute of limitations to bring a lawsuit. However, that statute of limitations can be told or suspended for a period of time if you did not know that you were injured or the person that injured you. You have one year until you knew or should have known of your injuries. Additionally, if you're under the age of 18, you have one year from the date you reached the age of 18 to bring a lawsuit.
